This role offers the chance to manage cases from start to finish within a single site, supported by a large and experienced clinical team. Full or Part-Time | Up to £67,500 FTE | Permanent

Key Details

• Role: Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon

• Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire

• Hours: Full time or part time considered

• Shift Pattern: Day shifts (8–10 hours) with paid 30-minute lunch

• Out of Hours: Participation required (worked from home)

• Average OOH: Approximately 1.25 nights per week

• Contract: Permanent

The Practice

• First-opinion small animal hospital providing its own 24-hour emergency and inpatient care

• Fully equipped hospital environment allowing continuity of case management

• Experienced, close-knit multidisciplinary team

• Visiting peripatetic orthopaedic surgeons and cardiology support

• Strong emphasis on patient care, teamwork and clinical progression

The Role

• GP veterinary role within a busy 24-hour hospital setting

• Managing a varied and interesting caseload

• Opportunity to follow cases through diagnostics, treatment and recovery

• Combination of day shifts with involvement in the out-of-hours rota

• Home-based on-call with nursing team on site overnight

• Supporting and mentoring less experienced vets where required

What We're Looking For

• RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon

• Confident in sole-charge situations

• Passion for patient care in a hospital environment

• Willingness to support recently graduated colleagues

• Full UK driving licence required
