Veterinary Surgeon | Wanstead, East London

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a large, well-equipped small animal hospital in Wanstead, East London. This full-time GP role is ideal for a confident vet who thrives in a hospital environment, enjoys emergency and critical care exposure and is looking to work within a highly supported, multi-disciplinary clinical team. A particular interest in diagnostic imaging would be advantageous.

• Role: Veterinary Surgeon

• Location: Wanstead, East London

• Hours: Full time

• Average Hours: 40 hours per week

• Rota Pattern: 6-week rolling rota

• Weekend Rota: 1 in 3 Saturdays, 1 in 6 Sundays

• Bank Holidays: Up to 2 per year

• On-call: Included (last-resort rota)

• Contract: Permanent

• Large small animal hospital providing first-opinion, emergency, critical care and referral services

• Acts as a central hospital supporting a wide local branch network

• State-of-the-art diagnostic facilities including CT imaging and in-house laboratory

• Strong medical and surgical teams delivering advanced orthopaedic, soft tissue and minimally invasive surgery

• Well-established management and clinical leadership structure

• High clinical standards with excellent case continuity

The Role

• Full-time GP veterinary role within a hospital setting

• Involvement across consulting, surgery, wards and ECC

• Managing routine procedures including bitch spays and dentals

• Confident handling of emergency cases

• Opportunity to utilise or develop skills in diagnostic imaging

• Working within a large, experienced veterinary and nursing team

• Exposure to a wide and varied caseload across all hospital departments

What We're Looking For

• RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon

• Confident GP vet with solid surgical and emergency skills

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment

• Interest in diagnostic imaging desirable

• Strong teamwork and communication skills

Salary & Benefits

• Salary £45,000 – £73,000 per annum (DOE)

• 6.6 weeks annual leave including bank holidays

• Private medical insurance

• Up to £2,000 CPD allowance per year

• Up to 5 days' paid CPD leave

• Relocation support available where applicable

Must Haves

• RCVS Registered (or soon to be)
• Possess the right to work in the United Kingdom
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
