(£45,000 – £61,000 FTE, DOE)

Hours: Part-time – 2 days per week
Working Days: Mondays and Tuesdays

Weekend Rota:

• 1 in 4 branch Saturdays

• 1 in 16 hospital Sundays

Bank Holidays: 1 per year
On-call: None
Contract: Permanent

The Practice

• Established first-opinion small animal practice with a loyal client base

• Accredited cat-friendly practice with a strong feline caseload

• Well-equipped for GP work with excellent nursing support

• Supported by a nearby 24-hour veterinary hospital for out-of-hours and referrals

Facilities and support include access to advanced diagnostics, specialist care and overnight hospitalisation when required, ensuring continuity of patient care and clinical reassurance.

The Role

• GP first-opinion veterinary role with a varied caseload

• Working alongside a senior vet on one of the working days

• Involvement in consultations, routine surgery and emergency triage

• Strong day-to-day support from experienced RVNs

• Additional regional clinical support available

• Opportunity to explore additional shifts or hours within the wider area if desired

This role is well suited to vets seeking a balanced workload without compromising on clinical exposure.

What We're Looking For

• RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon

• Confident in first-opinion small animal practice

• Comfortable working independently while supported by a team

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Interest in feline medicine advantageous but not essential

Salary & Benefits

• Salary: £25,312 – £33,855 per annum
  (£45,000 – £61,000 FTE, inclusive of weekend rota, DOE)

• 6.6 weeks annual leave including bank holidays (pro rata)

• Up to £2,000 CPD allowance per year (pro rata)

• Up to 5 days' paid CPD leave (pro rata)

Must Haves

• RCVS Registered (or soon to be)
• Possess the right to work in the United Kingdom
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
