The Practice

This role is based within a Tier 3 veterinary hospital and recognised training practice, offering an exceptional clinical environment with access to advanced diagnostics and specialist support. The hospital is certificate-focused, with vets holding or working towards certificates in medicine, surgery and diagnostic imaging.

The practice enjoys a close relationship with its referral service, allowing cases to be worked up thoroughly with excellent clinical backup and mentoring.

• Digital X-ray

• Ultrasound

• Dental radiography and scopes

• CO2 laser

• Laparoscopic equipment

• 64-slice CT scanner

• 1.5T MRI scanner

The Role

This position offers a blend of hospital and branch-based work, with flexibility to tailor the role to your preferences.

You'll be confident consulting and performing routine soft tissue surgery and neutering, with the opportunity to:

• Spend around 50% of your time in sole charge branch work

• Alternatively, work branch-only with full hospital backup if preferred

• Work alongside highly experienced, certificate-holding colleagues

• Develop cases to a high standard with referral-level support

Individual progression is actively encouraged, and support is in place for vets looking to develop clinical interests or pursue further qualifications.

Working Pattern & Flexibility

• 4-day working week available

• Weekend rota options:

  • 1 in 8 full Saturday/Sunday

  • Or 2 Saturdays and 1 Sunday in an 8-week period

• Some OOH cover only for holiday or sickness

• RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon

• Confident with consulting and routine surgical procedures

• Comfortable with some sole charge work

• Client- and patient-focused approach

• Enjoys working cases up thoroughly

• Collaborative, team-oriented mindset
