The Role
This is a key leadership role supporting the Senior Veterinary Surgeon, with responsibility for leading and developing the Veterinary Surgeon team. You’ll play a central role in ensuring efficient, professional and caring services are delivered to the local community.
Your time will be split between management and administrative responsibilities and hands-on clinical work. You’ll be involved in recruitment, selection and development of Veterinary Surgeons, leading projects, delegating tasks, and supporting the delivery of operational and clinical objectives set by the Senior Veterinary Surgeon.
This role would suit a confident, people-focused clinician who enjoys mentoring, leading teams and contributing to the wider development of veterinary services while remaining clinically active.

RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon

Strong background in small animal practice

Proven experience supporting, mentoring or leading clinical teams

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Strong customer service focus

Confident decision-maker with a collaborative leadership style

Organised, proactive and able to balance clinical and management duties

Passion for community-focused veterinary care
The Hospital
You’ll be based at a busy, well-equipped charity hospital in Cardiff, South Wales, offering a collaborative working environment with a strong focus on teamwork, shared learning and clinical excellence.
