The Organisation:
This role sits within a nationally recognised veterinary charity that has supported pet welfare and access to veterinary care across the UK for over a century. Operating a large network of pet hospitals and community services, the organisation delivers millions of veterinary treatments each year while maintaining a strong people-first, values-led culture. The focus is on compassionate, high-quality care delivered efficiently and sustainably, supported by a large multidisciplinary workforce and volunteer network.
The Role:
This is a senior leadership position responsible for the overall clinical, operational and people management of a busy Pet Hospital in Cardiff. You will lead through a management structure that includes Veterinary Surgeon Team Leaders, a Head Nurse and a Client Services Manager, fostering a collaborative, supportive and high-performing team culture.
You will oversee day-to-day hospital operations, ensuring clinical governance, patient safety and client experience are maintained to a high standard. Alongside clinical leadership, you will be accountable for rota planning, resource allocation and financial oversight, balancing quality care with cost-effective use of charitable resources.
This role suits a confident, people-focused leader who enjoys combining hands-on clinical credibility with strategic oversight and operational responsibility.

What We're Looking For:

RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon

Strong background in small animal practice

Proven leadership and people-management experience

Excellent communication, organisation and prioritisation skills

Calm, adaptable and solutions-focused approach

Strong alignment with charity and community-focused care
