Shifts: 8:45am–5:15pm or 10:45am–7:15pm (30 min unpaid lunch)

Weekends: 1 in 3 Saturdays (9:00am–1:00pm) with extra pay or TOIL

The Area:

The Role:
This is a hands-on Head RVN position where you will lead the day-to-day running of the nursing and VCA team while remaining actively involved in clinical work. You'll act as a role model within the practice, supporting high standards of patient care, optimising workflow, and helping to develop the skills and confidence of the wider team.
You will be closely involved in coaching, mentoring, appraisals, and clinical auditing, as well as supporting nurse clinics, theatre, and inpatient care. There is also an opportunity to develop your understanding of the practice as a business and contribute to its continued growth and success.
You will be fully supported by a Practice Owner who is an experienced Veterinary Surgeon and holds a Master's degree in Clinical Oncology, providing a strong clinical foundation and leadership support.
What We're Looking For:

RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse

Experience in a senior or leadership nursing role, or an RVN ready to step up

Strong organisational and communication skills

Confident leading, motivating, and supporting a clinical team

Passionate about delivering high standards of patient and client care

Interest in coaching, mentoring, and developing others
The Practice & Team:

Small, close-knit team with a supportive culture

Purpose-built practice with separate cat and dog wards and isolation

Modern facilities including ultrasound, digital X-ray, in-house lab, capnography and sterile theatre

Varied caseload with visiting specialists (cardiology, orthopaedics, advanced imaging)

High percentage of insured pets and longer consult times for complex cases

Must Haves
