Veterinary Surgeon | Part-Time | 24/7 Small Animal Hospital – Leeds, West Yorkshire

A flexible, part-time opportunity to join a family-run 24/7 veterinary hospital focused on clinical excellence, case continuity, and genuine team support. This role is ideal for an experienced GP Vet with an interest in ECC, inpatient care, and surgery, looking to work 1–3 days per week around other commitments while still enjoying exposure to a varied and rewarding caseload.

Part Time | Flexible 1–3 Days | £Competitive DOE | 1 in 4 Weekends | No Sole Charge

Key Details:

• Role: Veterinary Surgeon (GP / ECC-focused Day Vet)

• Hours: Part-time – flexible (1, 2, or 3 days per week)

• Working Pattern: Weekday day shifts with shared weekend rota

• Weekends: 1 in 4 (10 hrs Sat 10 hrs Sun, ECC/inpatient focus, no sole charge)

• Consult Length: 30-minute sick pet consults

• Contract: Permanent

• CPD: £1,500 per annum with certificate support encouraged

The Practice & Environment:

This is a well-established, family-run, RCVS-accredited 24-hour hospital providing both first-opinion and emergency care, alongside referral-level case work. The setup offers the best of both worlds: the pace and variety of general practice combined with the ability to work cases up fully in-house, supported by a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.

Recent and ongoing investment has significantly expanded clinical space, equipment, and team size, allowing for increased flexibility in rotas, enhanced progression opportunities, and regular in-house CPD. Advanced imaging support, including CT access, further strengthens case continuity and clinical outcomes.

The Role:

This is a daytime hospital role suited to a Veterinary Surgeon confident in general practice who enjoys ECC exposure, inpatient care, and collaborative working. Shifts are tailored around availability and may include a mix of surgery, consulting, and inpatient/ECC-focused duties.

You will work closely with experienced colleagues, including certificate holders in surgery, medicine, and dentistry, with excellent backup at all times and no sole charge.

Typical Shift Split (Flexible & Discussed at Interview):

• General practice surgical shift

• Consulting shift with extended consult times

• Late inpatient/ECC shift (up to 10pm) including handovers, inpatient care, emergency procedures, and urgent consults

What We're Looking For:

• RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon

• Solid GP experience with confidence in consults and routine surgery

• Interest in ECC, inpatient care, and case progression

• Team-focused approach with strong communication skills

• Desire for ongoing learning and clinical development

Clinical Support & Team Culture:

• Regular in-house CPD and clinical discussions
