Role: OOH / Emergency & Inpatient Veterinary Surgeon

Hours: Full time, 4 days per week (Monday–Friday)

Weekends: 1 in 4 (Saturday & Sunday, 10-hour shifts, no sole charge)

Working Pattern: Mixed surgical, consulting and inpatient/ECC shifts

Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience

The Area:
Located in West Yorkshire, the area offers excellent transport links across Yorkshire and the North of England, with easy access to surrounding towns and cities. The region provides a strong balance of urban convenience and nearby countryside, making it an attractive location for vets seeking hospital-level work without the pressures of major city living.
The Role:
This is a full-time hospital-based role within a busy, RCVS-accredited 24-hour small animal hospital. You will be involved in a varied and complex caseload, combining emergency and critical care, inpatient management and general practice surgery. The role offers excellent case continuity, allowing you to work cases up in-house to an advanced level, supported by experienced certificate holders across surgery, medicine and dentistry.
Shift Structure:

1 surgical shift (general practice)

1 consulting shift (30-minute sick pet consults as standard)

2 late inpatient/ECC shifts ending at 10pm

Weekend shifts focused on ECC, inpatient care and emergency consults with no sole charge
What We're Looking For:

RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon
-
Solid GP background with experience or interest in ECC and inpatient care

Confident managing medical, surgical and emergency cases
-
Strong communication and teamwork skills
-
A proactive approach to learning and clinical development

Interest in certificates encouraged and supported

Must Haves
