An excellent opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established, community-focused small animal practice offering strong clinical freedom, a varied caseload and genuine support for career progression. Full Time or Part Time | Up to £100,000 DOE | 3–4 Days | No OOH

• Role: Veterinary Surgeon (Senior / Clinical Lead potential)

• Hours: 3–4 days per week (9am–7pm)

• Weekends: 1 in 4

• Salary: Up to £100,000 DOE (FTE)

• Contract: Permanent

The Role:

This is a varied first-opinion role with scope to take on senior or clinical leadership responsibilities for the right candidate. You'll enjoy a broad caseload covering both medical and surgical work, supported by visiting certificate holders and a collaborative, experienced clinical team.

The practice strongly supports clinical freedom, encourages vets to develop their own interests and holds regular clinical meetings and in-house CPD. Candidates seeking a Senior Veterinary Surgeon or Clinical Lead position are actively encouraged to apply.

Clinical Exposure Includes:

• Routine and complex soft tissue surgery

• Emergency surgery (pyometra, caesarean, foreign bodies, cystotomies)

• Dentistry and basic ophthalmic procedures

• Wound management (surgical and non-surgical)

• Small animal caseload including some exotics and small furries

• In-house laboratory, ultrasound, digital x-ray and advanced monitoring

• Support from visiting certificate holders in surgery and orthopaedics

What We're Looking For:

• RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon

• Ideally 3–4 years' UK small animal experience

• Confident in routine surgery and consults

• Interest in leadership, mentoring or senior responsibilities welcomed

• Excellent communication and client care skills

• Team-focused with the ability to work independently

• Passion for high clinical standards and animal welfare
