The Area: Newbury is a thriving market town in Berkshire, best known for its racecourse and surrounded by some of the most attractive countryside in the South of England. It offers an excellent lifestyle balance with strong transport links, access to the North Wessex Downs, and easy routes towards Reading, Oxford and London.

The Practice: This is a modern, purpose-built independent small animal practice that opened in 2024 and is already experiencing strong growth. The practice forms part of a well-established independent, family-owned veterinary group with thirteen practices nationwide, offering long-term stability without corporate pressure. Clinical freedom is actively encouraged, with all income reinvested back into staff development and facilities. The practice is fully equipped with digital radiography, ultrasonography and an IDEXX in-house laboratory, alongside dedicated surgical facilities and visiting ophthalmology, soft tissue and orthopaedic specialists.

The Role: We are seeking an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon with a minimum of two years' experience to join a growing independent practice. The role currently involves elements of shared sole charge alongside the practice owner and an established part-time vet, supported by visiting medical and surgical specialists and an experienced nursing team. As the caseload continues to build, the role offers excellent scope to shape the future of the practice while benefiting from the wider clinical support of a large independent group. Flexible working patterns are available, with a strong emphasis on work–life balance and no on-call commitment.
