The Area: Amersham is a desirable market town set within the Chiltern Hills, offering a countryside lifestyle while remaining exceptionally well connected via the Metropolitan Line into central London. It provides an excellent balance for vets seeking rural living with easy access to London and surrounding Buckinghamshire towns.

The Practice: This is a modern, purpose-built independent small animal practice that opened in 2023 and continues to grow rapidly. The practice forms part of a well-established independent, family-owned veterinary group, offering long-term security without corporate restrictions. Clinical freedom is actively encouraged, and all income is reinvested back into staff, facilities and continued practice development. Facilities include digital radiography, ultrasonography, an IDEXX in-house laboratory and dedicated surgical suites, with visiting soft tissue, orthopaedic and ophthalmology specialists supporting case progression.

The Role: We are seeking an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to support a growing caseload within a developing independent practice. The role will initially involve elements of sole charge while expansion continues, with strong clinical support available from the wider independent group. You will work alongside another permanent vet and visiting specialists, allowing cases to be worked up properly while maintaining a manageable and rewarding workload. The role offers excellent flexibility with no on-call, no Sundays and no bank holiday working.
