Location: Waltham Forest, East London
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 DOE
Hours: 39 per week, 4 days, 1 in 4 weekends, duty nights on rotation
Contract: Permanent, full-time

The Role
We're looking for an experienced and motivated Head Veterinary Nurse to lead the nursing team at our modern, independent practice in Waltham Forest. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a leadership role within a supportive, well-established team, helping to drive clinical standards, mentor colleagues and deliver outstanding patient and client care.

You'll play a key role in supporting the professional growth of our RVNs, SVNs and VCAs while maintaining high standards of nursing across the practice.

This purpose-built, fully equipped surgery is part of the UK's largest independent, family-owned veterinary group. With spacious, light facilities and the latest technology, the environment is designed to support clinical excellence and create a calm, positive experience for patients, clients and colleagues.

The Team
At Waltham Forest, you'll be working alongside a passionate team including 1 Senior Vet, 4 Vets and 6 RVNs. Our veterinary team covers a variety of specialisms including exotic pet care, imaging and BOAS surgery, while the caseload is evenly split between dogs and cats – ideal for those with a strong interest in feline medicine.

Regular CPD, case discussions and skills development are at the heart of the practice, ensuring continuous professional growth for the whole team.

• RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse

• Experience in leadership or a senior nursing role

• Confident, approachable and self-motivated

• Strong communicator with excellent team-building skills

• Enthusiastic about mentoring and supporting colleagues

Must Haves

• RCVS Registered (or soon to be)
