The Role
Independent, family-owned small animal practice seeks an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join the team in Barnsley. This is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy genuine clinical freedom, a supportive work environment, and clear investment in your professional development.

You'll handle a varied caseload of medical and surgical cases, supported by a collaborative team who value patient care, teamwork and strong client relationships. Confidence in routine surgery and consults is important, and an interest in surgery or another clinical area will be fully encouraged.

About the Practice
As part of the UK's largest independent veterinary group, this purpose-built practice combines the stability of a nationwide network with the personal, community-focused feel of an independent surgery. The facilities are modern, spacious and fully equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical equipment.

The practice has a strong reputation locally, regularly engaging in community events, fundraising and education. CPD is actively supported, with funding available for certificates and specialisation.

The Team
You'll join a friendly group of experienced Vets, RVNs, Student Nurses and support colleagues. The team covers a wide range of clinical interests — including imaging and exotics — ensuring a varied caseload and opportunities for peer-to-peer learning. Mentorship is part of the culture, with excellent support for developing colleagues at all levels.

• RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon

• Confidence in routine consultations and surgeries

• Interest in surgery or another clinical specialism welcomed

• Strong communication and team skills

• Passion for delivering excellent patient care
