The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a supportive small animal practice in Hertfordshire. Nurses here are fully involved in all areas of practice life — from theatre to nurse consults and everything in between.

This is a varied role where you'll be encouraged to utilise your full skillset, with responsibilities covering anaesthesia, inpatient care, nurse clinics, diagnostics and practice support. The rota is designed with work-life balance in mind, offering full or part time hours, no out of hours, no Sundays, and only 1 in 3 Saturdays (paid or with time off in lieu).

About the Practice:
This is a purpose-built, modern practice with dedicated cat, dog, and isolation wards, supported by strong facilities and equipment. The caseload is varied with a high percentage of insured pets, and visiting specialists regularly attend for advanced procedures including cardiac scans, abdominal ultrasound with sampling, and orthopaedics.

Appointments are 30 minutes for non-routine cases and 15 minutes for vaccinations, ensuring the clinical team has the time to provide a high standard of care.

The Team:
You'll be joining a small, dedicated team of Vets, RVNs, VCAs and reception staff. The practice culture is friendly, supportive and collaborative, with a strong focus on nurse development and job satisfaction.

Facilities & Equipment:

• Separate cat, dog and isolation wards

• Ultrasound

• Digital X-ray

• In-house laboratory with microscope

• Capnography and pulse oximetry

• Dedicated sterile theatre

• Visiting specialists for advanced imaging and orthopaedics

The Area:
Based in Hertfordshire, the practice is easily accessible from surrounding towns including Ware, Hertford and Harlow, with excellent road and rail connections into London and Cambridge. The area offers a mix of market-town charm and modern amenities, with plenty of countryside walks nearby.
