The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time Veterinary Surgeon to join a thriving small animal team in Thurrock. This is an initial 6–12 month fixed term contract, with the prospect to become permanent.

Part time: one weekday (9am–7pm) plus 1:4 weekends (Saturday 9am–6pm & Sunday 10:30am–4:30pm)

No OOH or bank holiday cover

Opportunity to focus on consults only or to pursue surgical interests

About the Practice
This modern, purpose-built practice is based within a busy retail park, with excellent facilities including:

Digital X-ray and ultrasound scanner (abdominal and cardiac)

Flexible endoscopes and advanced anaesthesia/pain management equipment

Multi-parameter monitoring, drip pumps and nerve locator

Orthopaedic kit including cruciate and patella repair procedures (TPLO also available)

Access to CT and MRI at nearby branches
The caseload is varied, with approximately 60% canine and 40% feline patients, including soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeries.
The Team
You will be working alongside a supportive and experienced clinical team of Veterinary Surgeons, Nurses, Student Nurses, VCA and support staff. The team includes certificate holders and vets with interests in orthopaedics, internal medicine, and diagnostic imaging, providing an excellent environment for ongoing learning and case development.
What We're Looking For

Qualified Veterinary Surgeon with RCVS registration

Ideally 1–2 years' experience in small animal practice

Confident with routine consults; surgical interest welcome but not essential

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

A genuine passion for patient care and client relationships

Must Haves
- RCVS Registered (or soon to be)
- Possess the right to work in the United Kingdom
