Role: Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon – Permanent – I ndependent practice

Salary: £45,000–£65,000 FTE (DOE)

Hours: Full or part time – 3, 4 or 5 days per week
-
Split shifts: 8:30am–4:30pm or 11:00am–7:00pm (flexible around commitments such as school runs)

Weekends: 1 in 3 or 1 in 4 Saturdays, 9:00am–4:00pm (TOIL provided)

Sundays/Bank Holidays: Closed
The Role
-
Routine consultations and surgeries
-
Managing medical cases from work-up to diagnosis and treatment

Some sole charge, with hospital support for advanced cases and emergencies

Opportunity to pursue certificates and specialist interests, fully funded and encouraged
About the Practice
A well-established, independent small animal practice equipped with:

Digital and dental x-ray
-
Ultrasound
-
Endoscopy
-
K-laser therapy
-
In-house laboratory
You'll join a stable team of 2–3 vets, 3 nurses and excellent support staff with fantastic retention. Expansion plans are underway with completion due March/April 2026 to enhance facilities, although they are happy to have a vet on board a lot sooner than this due to client demand.

Situated in the wider Nottinghamshire area, you'll enjoy the best of both worlds – a welcoming community with countryside walks on the doorstep, yet only a short drive into Nottingham for shopping, culture, nightlife and rail links to London. The East Midlands offers great schools, affordable housing and excellent transport connections, making it a fantastic place to live and work.
