We are recruiting for a Senior Veterinary Surgeon to join our popular Tooting practice in South London. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident GP vet to take the reins of a well-established clinic in one of London's most desirable locations.

About the role
Tooting is a vibrant community ranked in the Top 10 Coolest Neighbourhoods in the World by Lonely Planet. With a close-knit client base and excellent facilities, this practice is known for delivering high standards of patient and client care.

• Rota: 3 x 8.30am–6.30pm shifts, 1 x 8.30am–4.30pm shift

• Weekends: 1:3 Saturday mornings, 1:10 Sundays at Stone Lion Hospital

• Bank Holidays: Up to 1 per year

• On-call: None

• Facilities: Fully equipped with ultrasound and all the essentials for first opinion GP practice

• Team: Senior RVN, part-time RVN, trainee nurses, plus dedicated regional manager and regional head vet

Leadership training will be provided if this is your first senior role, ensuring you feel supported in both clinical and team management responsibilities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the clinical standards and team development in practice

• Performing routine GP consults and surgeries

• Supporting and mentoring nursing and trainee colleagues

• Working collaboratively with the wider regional and hospital teams

You'll also be supported by Stone Lion 24-hour Hospital in Wimbledon, providing referral support, advanced diagnostics, and OOH care for your patients.

About you

• RCVS Registered Veterinary Surgeon

• Confident with routine GP work, including consults and surgery

• Motivated to lead, mentor and develop the practice team

• Positive, proactive, and able to build strong client relationships

Package

• Salary: £64,000 – £85,000 (FTE) depending on experience

• Hours: Full-time, 4 days per week

• Holidays: 6.6 weeks including bank holidays

• CPD: £2,000 annual budget plus up to 5 paid CPD days

• Memberships: RCVS and VDS fees paid
