We are recruiting for a Senior Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a leading 24-hour veterinary hospital in Wanstead, East London.

About the role
This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week. The rota includes:

• 1:6 weekend rotation with time off in lieu

• Up to 3 bank holidays per year

• Inclusion in the last-resort on-call rota (with strong night team support)

You will work across all hospital departments — theatre, wards, consults, and ECC — stepping in to support areas when senior colleagues are on leave, ensuring variety in your weeks. Leadership training and additional departmental support will be provided where needed.

Wanstead Veterinary Hospital is the largest in the group, supporting 20 local branches with first opinion, emergency, critical care, and referral services. The hospital sees a wide range of cases, making it a stimulating environment for a Senior RVN.

Facilities include:

• CT scanner

• In-house and commercial laboratory

• Advanced orthopaedic, soft tissue, and minimally invasive surgery

• Strong GP, ECC, and referral teams

You will work alongside around 25 vets, 27 RVNs, 14 SVNs, 7 VCAs, and a large front-of-house team, all committed to delivering excellent patient care.

About you

• Registered Veterinary Nurse with strong hospital or referral experience

• Confident working across multiple departments (theatre, wards, consults, ECC)

• Positive, adaptable, and able to thrive in a varied hospital role

• Organised and proactive with excellent clinical standards

• Keen to support colleagues, mentor juniors, and step into senior responsibility

Package

• Salary: £34,000 – £39,000 depending on experience

• Holidays: 6.6 weeks annual leave including bank holidays

• CPD: Annual CPD budget plus up to 2 paid CPD days
