We are recruiting for a Veterinary Surgeon to join two busy and well-established practices in East London, working across South Woodford and Tottenham.

About the role
This is a full-time position based on a 4-day week, split between:

• 2 days at South Woodford

• 2 days at Tottenham

The rota also includes:

• 1:4 Saturday rotation at a local branch

• 1:8 Sunday rota at Wanstead Hospital

• Up to 2 bank holidays per year

• Last-resort on-call and twilight rotation at Wanstead (after induction)

A hospital induction day will be included as part of your start to ensure you are fully supported in your hospital shifts.

• Hours: Full-time, 4 days per week

• Weekends: 1:4 Saturdays, 1:8 Sundays at Wanstead Hospital

• OOH: Last-resort only, covered by Wanstead Hospital

• Sole charge: Some required at Tottenham

• Salary: £45,000 – £61,000 FTE depending on experience

• Contract: Permanent

• Tottenham: A lively first opinion practice with a mix of long-standing and new clients. Supported by a strong team including a senior vet, senior RVN, and trainee nurses. You will work one day alongside the senior vet and one day sole charge.

• South Woodford: A thriving branch with a highly experienced senior vet and established nursing team, providing excellent support on both days you are there.

Both practices are supported by Wanstead 24-hour Veterinary Hospital, offering advanced referral services, ECC, and OOH care.

Location highlights

• Tottenham: 5-minute walk from Bruce Grove overground to Liverpool Street, or 15 minutes to Tottenham Hale for the Victoria Line.

• South Woodford: 8-minute walk to the Central Line and close to local shops, bars, and restaurants.

• Both branches are a short drive from Epping Forest, perfect for countryside escapes.

About you

• Qualified Veterinary Surgeon with strong GP practice experience

• Confident in routine consults and surgeries

• Able to manage sole charge days with confidence

• Strong communication and client care skills

• Positive, proactive, and collaborative in a team environment

Package

• Salary: £45,000 – £61,000 FTE depending on experience

• Holidays: 6.6 weeks annual leave including bank holidays

• CPD: £2,000 annual budget plus up to 5 paid CPD days

• Memberships: RCVS and VDS fees paid
