Registered Veterinary Nurse – Wanstead East London

We are recruiting for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a busy 24-hour hospital in Wanstead, East London. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced RVN who thrives in a hospital environment and wants to work across multiple departments, including theatre, wards, consults, and ECC. About the role
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week. The rota includes a 1:4 weekend rotation with TOIL and up to 3 bank holidays per year. You will also be included in the last-resort on-call rota, although with two RVNs and one VCA on every night shift, this is rarely required.

You will join a large and supportive hospital nursing team, with opportunities to work across all departments. If you excel in one area more than another, full training can be provided. Leadership training is also available for those looking to develop into a senior role in the future.

Wanstead Veterinary Hospital provides first opinion, emergency, critical care, and referral services for clients and over 20 surrounding branches. The caseload is diverse and offers excellent opportunities for learning and development.

• CT scanner and commercial laboratory

• Strong multidisciplinary medical team

• Advanced orthopaedic, soft tissue, and minimally invasive surgery

• Large hospital team: approx. 25 vets, 27 RVNs, 14 SVNs, 7 VCAs, plus a dedicated client care team

The hospital is ideally located on the outskirts of leafy Essex, with fast transport links across London. The area also offers a vibrant café and restaurant scene, making it a great place to live and work.

About you

• Registered Veterinary Nurse with at least 2 years' experience

• Confident working across multiple departments, or willing to learn with support

• Organised, proactive, and motivated to deliver excellent patient care

• Strong communicator who enjoys working as part of a large multidisciplinary team

• Keen to continue professional development, with potential to step into senior roles

Package

• Salary: £32,000 – £35,000 depending on experience

• Holidays: 6.6 weeks annual leave including bank holidays

• CPD: Annual CPD budget plus up to 2 paid CPD days

• Memberships: RCVS and VDS fees paid
