Part-Time Registered Veterinary Nurse – Hackney, London

We are recruiting for a Part-Time Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a busy small animal practice in Hackney, East London. This is a 12-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave and is an excellent opportunity for an RVN seeking part-time hours, a varied caseload, and the stability of a permanent role while still enjoying a flexible work-life balance.

This position involves working Thursdays and Fridays (8-hour shifts), averaging 18.4 hours per week, inclusive of a 1:4 Saturday rota and 1:20 Sunday rota, plus up to 1 bank holiday per year.

• Team: Experienced vets, senior RVN, students, trainee nurses, and dedicated support staff

This is a lively and well-established East London practice, forming part of a supportive "mini hub” alongside nearby sites. The team are passionate about providing excellent veterinary care and have recently invested in diagnostic imaging facilities to support their diverse caseload.

The practice is well equipped with:

• Two consulting rooms

• Large prep and theatre area

• Separate cat and dog wards

• Well-utilised in-house laboratory

You'll also benefit from the support of a nearby 24-hour hospital, ensuring your patients always receive exceptional OOH and specialist care when required.

About you

• You are a qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse confident in all aspects of general nursing

• You thrive in a busy, team-based environment and bring enthusiasm, energy, and excellent communication skills

• You're organised, caring, and motivated to deliver the highest standards of clinical and client care

• You may be looking to move away from full-time locum work and into a role that offers permanent stability with flexible hours

Package

• Salary: £14,720 – £16,100 per annum (pro rata), equivalent to £32,000 – £35,000 FTE, depending on experience

• Holidays: 6.6 weeks annual leave including bank holidays (pro rata)

• CPD: Annual CPD allowance plus up to 2 paid CPD days

• Memberships: RCVS and VDS fees paid
