We are recruiting on behalf of a busy 24-hour veterinary hospital in Wimbledon, London, for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join their supportive and experienced team.
This is a full-time position working a 4-day week, plus weekend rotation (1:3 Saturdays and 1:10 Sundays). You will also be rota'd for up to 2 bank holidays per year. There are no on-call requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced hospital vet with a medicine bias, looking to take on more responsibility within a supportive hospital setting.
About the role
The role will involve working across multiple hospital departments including consultations, surgeries, and wards. You will also be expected to take on advanced responsibilities such as supporting junior colleagues and being involved in the running of the hospital floor.

Carrying out consultations, routine surgeries, and case management

Working within wards, surgery, and consulting departments

Supporting the team in emergency and critical care cases

Providing guidance and support to junior colleagues

Contributing to the day-to-day running of the hospital floor

Team: Experienced vets, large RVN team, trainees, and on-site clinical management

This is a busy, RCVS-accredited 24-hour hospital that manages a varied caseload, including first opinion, emergency, and referral work. The hospital also provides access to advanced services including orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, cardiology, and physiotherapy.
The hospital is fully equipped with modern facilities and has achieved ISFM Silver Award status as a Cat Friendly Clinic. You will be fully supported by a strong multidisciplinary team and provided with leadership training if you wish to develop your management skills further.
Located in the heart of Wimbledon, the hospital is easily accessible with excellent transport links across London, and offers a fantastic lifestyle balance in a vibrant area.

You will be a qualified Veterinary Surgeon with a medicine bias and hospital experience

You will be confident in routine surgery and case management

You will enjoy working in a busy hospital environment with varied caseloads

You will have excellent communication and client-facing skills

You will be comfortable supporting and mentoring junior colleagues
Package
-
Salary: £45,000 to £73,000 per annum (commensurate with experience)

Holidays: 6.6 weeks annual leave including bank holidays

CPD: Up to £2,000 allowance plus 5 paid CPD days

Must Haves
- RCVS Registered (or soon to be)
