We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Berwick for a Permanent Veterinary Nurse to join their experienced and supportive team.
This is a full-time role for 37 hours per week, with participation in the Saturday and out-of-hours rotas shared equally across the team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a modern, purpose-built practice with fantastic facilities including state-of-the-art digital x-ray and video endoscopy. Located right on the coast in the beautiful Berwick-upon-Tweed, the practice offers a wonderful lifestyle balance, with beaches and countryside on the doorstep and easy transport links to Edinburgh.
About the role
The role involves all aspects of general nursing, including medical and surgical care. The successful candidate will be fully supported to work to the best of their ability, with the opportunity to undertake Schedule 3 procedures based on experience and qualifications.
Key duties include:

Nurse consults (weight, dental, senior clinics, etc.)

Running well-established nursing clinics and campaigns

Administering treatments and medications as directed by the veterinary surgeons

Taking blood samples, processing laboratory work, x-rays and preparing patients for surgery

Monitoring anaesthetics and assisting with recovery

Maintaining a clean and safe working environment

Occasional reception duties

About you

You will be a qualified RVN, confident in all aspects of general nursing

You will be enthusiastic and passionate about delivering outstanding patient and client care
-
You will be keen to develop your skills further, including Schedule 3 procedures

You will be a motivated team player with excellent communication skills

You will be adaptable and comfortable with occasional reception work
Package

Salary: £24,338 to £29,302 per annum (commensurate with experience)

Holidays: 30 days annual leave allowance (pro rata)
