Permanent Veterinary Surgeon – Oldbury West Midlands
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a veterinary surgeon to join a forward-thinking, expanding practice in Oldham. This is a permanent role within a dynamic and supportive setting, offering an excellent caseload, modern facilities, and genuine opportunities for professional development.
This is a full time role offering a 4 or 5 day week from 9am – 6.30pm. There is a 1:4 Saturday rota. No OOH. The role will be working across their two sites.
The practice is proud of its well-established and collaborative team, which includes a strong group of vets, registered nurses, student nurses, and experienced support staff. Their combined expertise and commitment to gold-standard care ensure a positive working environment where both patients and team members thrive.
The facilities are designed to support a wide range of cases, from routine consultations to more advanced procedures. You'll have access to modern diagnostic and surgical equipment, including referral-standard ultrasound, a dedicated orthopaedic theatre, dental radiography, and separate species recovery wards. A varied caseload is guaranteed, providing excellent exposure to both medical and surgical cases.
Further study is actively supported, with several members of the current team already undertaking advanced training across areas such as dentistry, ultrasonography, and cardiology. Whether you are keen to pursue a certificate or build on an existing area of interest, the practice will provide the financial backing and clinical support to help you achieve your goals.
This position would suit either an experienced veterinary surgeon or a confident recent graduate looking to further develop in a progressive environment. The most important qualities are enthusiasm, strong teamwork, and a genuine dedication to delivering excellent patient care.
