Permanent Veterinary Surgeon – Dudley, West Midlands

An independent, small animal practice is seeking a permanent veterinary surgeon to join their supportive and friendly team. This is an excellent opportunity for a vet looking to escape the corporate environment and enjoy a calm, low-stress workplace with a flexible approach to rota and hours. This role offers a flexible rota either on a full or part time basis.

Role Details

• Flexible rota: 3 or 4 days per week considered
• Flexible Saturdays: 1 in 3 or 4 Saturdays acceptable
• Working hours (Mon–Fri): 9am–1pm and 3pm–6pm
• Weekend rota: 1 in 2 Saturdays, 9:30am–12:30pm (no Sundays)
• No out-of-hours (OOH)
• Sole charge required one day per week with phone support and backup available
• Teleos computer system
• No branch work

Team & Practice Information

• Team includes 1 Vet, 2 RVNs, 2 SVNs, 3 Receptionists, and a Practice Manager
• 15-minute consults
• First opinion small animal practice: consults and routine surgeries
• Supportive, non-corporate environment with no KPIs or micromanagement
• In-house lab, ultrasound, and x-ray facilities
• Independently owned; vet reports to Senior Vet and Practice Manager

Ideal Candidate

• Minimum 1 year of experience (not suitable for new graduates)
• Strong team fit is essential – harmonious, collaborative working environment
• Open-minded and willing to challenge habits and adapt
• Compassionate and practical – able to work with clients who may not afford gold-standard care

• Salary from £40,000 depending on experience

Must Haves

• RCVS Registered (or soon to be)
• Possess the right to work in the United Kingdom
