An established and forward-thinking equine practice in the scenic Tyne Valley, Northumberland, is currently seeking a dedicated Equine Veterinary Surgeon to join their expanding team. The practice operates both ambulatory and referral services and features a modern 10-stable clinic with advanced diagnostic and surgical facilities, including standing MRI, scintigraphy, and a surgical theatre suite. The caseload is varied, with a strong focus on leisure horses and semi-professional to amateur competition horses, offering a rewarding and interesting mix of cases.
The team is experienced, welcoming, and committed to delivering high-quality, trusted veterinary care. They have a broad range of clinical interests including internal medicine, diagnostic imaging, elective surgery, and emergency care. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping the practice continue to grow, with opportunities to contribute to clinical development and relationship-building with neighbouring practices.
The role offers a competitive salary of £38,000 to £50,000, dependent on experience, with a 1 in 5 out-of-hours rota and a day off following a weekend on call. The benefits package includes 6.6 weeks of paid holiday (including bank holidays), a generous £1,750 annual CPD allowance, and support for ongoing training and development.
