Permanent Veterinary Surgeon – Maldon, Essex
Full-Time or Part-Time | Flexible Hours | No OOH | Up to £60K DOE

An established, supportive small animal practice in the scenic Heybridge Basin area is seeking an experienced and motivated Veterinary Surgeon to join their team permanently.

The Role

• Flexible full-time (4-day week) or part-time/job share considered

• 1 in 4 weekend rota (Sat 9–6, Sun 10–4)

• No out-of-hours; emergencies covered externally

• Varied surgical and medical caseload

About the Practice

• Long-standing, community-focused team (10 years)

• Collaborative team of RVNs, receptionists, and experienced vets

• Regular clinical meetings, in-house CPD, and visiting surgical certificate holder

• Social, friendly culture with strong team spirit

• Modern in-house diagnostics: ultrasound, digital X-ray, lab, multiparameter monitoring

Clinical Opportunities

• Broad first-opinion case exposure (dogs, cats, small furries, some exotics)

• Supportive of clinical freedom and special interests

• Surgical cases include: neutering, dentistry, mass removals, emergency ops, ophthalmic surgery

Ideal Candidate

• Confident with routine consults, medicine, and surgery

• Keen to develop skills or pursue a clinical interest

• Enthusiastic team player
