We have an exciting opportunity for a Permanent Mixed Veterinary Surgeon to join a practice in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire. This role is full time for 4 days per week with shifts from 8:45am to 5pm, along with 1 in 9 or 10 weekends on-call. There will be two vets on-call. The first vet responds and the second vet is a backup. After a weekend on-call, the vet receives a 4-day weekend the following week and there is additional cash benefit paid. The on-call rota is currently 1 in 8 weekends but it will increase to 1 in 9 or 10 weekends when the role is filled.
For the mix animal Vets there is a rota which is structured specifically for a mixed role of farm, equine and small animal work and there are also set operation days and consulting time in order that they may work up their cases to a high standard.
The practice boasts a large team of Nurses and they ae fully equipped with the latest toys including large and small video endoscopes, sector and linear ultrasound scanner for farms work, equine ultrasound, and small animal ultrasound. The team provide a supportive working environment and they have clinical meetings each week to share clinical cases and best practice.
Who are the looking for?
For the mixed Vet role, they are looking for a Vet who is capable working across small, large, and equine animals and they will be offered the clinical freedom to build on any bias that they may have.
Car is available if required. Various levels of experience will be considered.
Key details:
- Type: Mixed animal
- Hours: Full time, 4 days per week, shifts from 8:45am to 5pm

- Team: 12 vets and a large team of nurses and supporting staff
- Consultations: 15 minute consultations in practice

About you:
- You will be a mixed animal vet with capabilities to deal with small, equine and farm animal routine cases
- You will be capable of dealing with routine consultations and surgeries.
- You will be able to establish and build client relationships easily
- You will be ambitious and motivated to progress
- You will be competent in routine surgeries – dependent on experience support available
- You will always deliver a high standard of clinical care
- You will have excellent customer facing skills
- You will work well within the team alongside other veterinary specialists and clinicians

Facilities:
The practice offers a wide range of veterinary services for small animal, equine and farm animal. They are fully equipped with a wide range of modern equipment for diagnostics and allowing for excellent patient care.
Package:
- Salary: £37,000 to £60,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
- Holidays: 6.6 weeks annual leave, including bank holidays

Must haves:
