Permanent Head Veterinary Nurse – Camden, London

We are recruiting on behalf of a practice of a small animal practice in Camden, London for a Permanent Head Veterinary Nurse to join their team. This role is full time for 40 hours per week, along with weekends on a rota. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.

About the role
The role will involve many different aspects from general nursing to assisting with the financial performance of the practice. You will work closely with the lead vet to ensure the smooth running of the practice. You will be a clinical coach and train and support both SVNs and PCAs within the practice. You will lead by example and continue to maintain a positive working environment and progressive culture.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Complete all aspects of nursing duties and assisting veterinary surgeons
- Supervise the nursing and ancillary staff
- Clinical coaching duties for SVNs
- Provide council to all nursing and ancillary team where required on performance
- Liaise with the senior vet to ensure that schedule 3 procedures are maximised for all suitable and trained RVNs
- Organise rotas and liaise with senior vet and regional team to ensure all practice needs are met
- The RVN will be involved with part of the recruitment process within the practice
- Assist the management team with the administration that is needed to complete the smooth day to day running of the practice
- Take responsibility for monitoring stock control and adhering to budget
- Reception enquiries when required
- Liaise with clients and ensure accurate information is passed on regarding their pets
- Co-ordinate training for nurses and animal care assistants
- Ensure opportunities are available for team members to gain experience and provide support and encourage where necessary
- Induction training of new staff members
- Assist management with performance reviews
- Ensure staff are compliant with Health and Safety Policies

Package:
- Salary: Up to £34,500 per annum, commensurate to experience
