Hours: Full time (40 hours per week) or part time considered. 1 weekend per month (Sat 9am–6pm, Sun 10am–4pm). No OOH or sole charge.
Salary: £50,000 – £70,000 per annum (DOE, FTE)
The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly and supportive small animal practice in Burgess Hill. You'll manage a varied caseload with the opportunity to develop your clinical skills further, supported by a collaborative and experienced team.
The role involves a mix of consultations and surgery, with at least one dedicated ops day each week. You will have clinical freedom to work cases up thoroughly, supported by excellent facilities and an insured client base.
About the Practice:
This is a modern, purpose-built practice that has been recently renovated and is well equipped to deliver high standards of care. Facilities include digital X-ray, ultrasound, in-house laboratory, and dedicated dog, cat and isolation wards. With around 30% of clients insured, there is scope to investigate and treat cases to a gold standard.
The Team:
You'll be joining a large and experienced team of 9 Vets, 9 RVNs, trainee nurses, and welcoming reception staff. Many colleagues are undertaking certificates and professional development, and you will be encouraged and supported to pursue your own clinical interests.
Work-Life Balance:
Typical shifts are either 8am–6pm or 10am–8pm, with only one late shift per week. The rota includes just 1 weekend per month and no OOH, ensuring a healthy work-life balance. Flexible hours or part-time options are available.

Burgess Hill is well located near the South Downs National Park and just a short drive to Brighton, offering the best of countryside and coastal living with excellent transport links to London and beyond.

Must Haves
- RCVS Registered (or soon to be)
- Possess the right to work in the United Kingdom
