Join our friendly and growing team at a brand new independent small animal practice in Redcar, where high-quality patient care, supportive teamwork, and work-life balance are at the heart of what they do. This role is full time for 40 hours per week with shifts from 8:30am to 6:30pm, along with Saturdays on a rota. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.
Key details:
- Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week, shifts from 8:30am to 6:30pm
- Weekends: Saturdays on a rota, 8:30am to 12:30pm
- OOH: None
- On-call: None
- Branch work: None
About the role:
- Providing nursing support across a range of areas including theatre, radiography, dispensary, in-patient care, and lab work
- Monitoring anaesthesia and assist veterinary surgeons with procedures
- Performing diagnostic tests such as blood sampling, urinalysis, and X-rays
- Administering treatments including injections, medications, fluid therapy, and wound care
- Conducting and promoting nursing clinics, advising clients on pet health, preventative care, and nutrition
- Maintaining accurate clinical records and assist with reception tasks as needed
- Helping with in-house training and mentoring of new staff and volunteers
- Ensuring all areas of the practice are clean, well-stocked, and maintained
Who we’re looking for:
- RCVS-registered veterinary nurse
- Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude
- Team player who takes pride in delivering high standards of care
- Confidence across a variety of nursing duties and willingness to support the wider team
Package:
- Salary: Starting from £28,000 per annum (for newly qualified nurses)
- Holidays: 5 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays
- CPD: Generous allowance of £500
- Memberships: RCVS fees paid
- Closed on bank holidays and no out-of-hours work
- Supportive environment with opportunities to grow as the practice develops
Must haves:
- RCVS registered and qualified or soon to be
- Possess the right to work in the United Kingdom
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
