We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal hospital in Cheadle for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. This role is full time for 4 days per week, along with weekends on a rota with time off in lieu. There will be some late evening shifts from 5pm to 11pm but no OOH work or on-call duties.
They are looking for an enthusiastic candidate who has a good level of previous experience as some occasional sole charge will be involved. The practice boasts an excellent reputation across Stockport and Greater Manchester. There is a strong supportive team with various levels of experience.
About the role:
The practice requires a veterinary surgeon who has solid all round general medical and surgical skills and who is also comfortable working sole charge on occasion. Excellent customer service skills are vital and the ability to establish good working relationships with clients, patients and fellow team members. The practice believes strongly in case continuity so the vet will be able to work up cases fully and see them from start to finish with plenty of time available to document the services provided.
The vet must be enthusiastic and passionate about their work. As a busy practice there is excellent opportunities to continue to learn and grow and areas of special interest are actively encouraged and supported.

- Consultations: 10 minutes

About you:
- You must have a strong work ethic and provide an excellent high standard of clinical service
- You will have excellent judgement and experience in business operations
- You will be able to mentor and coach others
- You will be confident in making decisions
- You will be confident in all areas of routine surgeries and medical cases
- You will be happy to work sole charge
- You will want to contribute to the practice enabling them to stay at the forefront of clinical thinking whilst also maintaining the ethos of providing a high standard of clinical care to all pets
- You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop a great rapport with both clients and staff
- You will be a strong team player with an enthusiastic and passionate attitude
Package:
- Salary: £41,500 to £60,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
