We are recruiting for a Permanent Emergency and Critical Care Veterinary Surgeon to join a small animal hospital in Cardiff. The practice is recruiting for more than one position due to ongoing expansion. The working pattern is a rolling 4 days on and 4 days off rota with no night shifts, averaging 35 hours per week. The practice also has availability for night ECC vets.
The practice has 5 sites within the area of Cardiff including a new state of the art animal hospital. They are recruiting for Emergency and Critical Care Vets to work day/evening/weekend/nights shifts in order to overall provide an emergency 24/7 cover to all practices enabling them to accept inpatients and emergency cases all throughout the day. Therefore various roles are available for vets who have a specific interest in ECC work. They will also have the opportunity to study towards certificates. The roles offer excellent opportunities for vets to develop their ECC skills without needing to work long nights enabling a better work-life balance.
The roles will involve dealing with 1st opinion emergencies and providing inpatient care along with the opportunities for case work ups.
The roles do offer flexibility with shifts, and they have various options available both full and part time. There is weekend day cover, night cover, weekday work and holiday cover work available, and the practice can offer various options to suit the right candidate. Mostly the current night teams work on a 7 night on and 7 nights off basis however again they have been flexible in the past and are also working towards providing a 7 on and 14 off shift rota.
In total the practice comprises of a large team of 19 vets with numerous areas of special interest. The pride themselves on providing the best possible healthcare to patients and their owners.
The Hospital has state of the art facilities including CT scanner, Endoscopy, orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeries, exotic and medical referrals, dedicated dog and car wards and ICU facilities.
All branches are fully equipped and offer a range of modern veterinary services and facilities. All include ultrasound, digital x-ray, and dental x-ray. There is also access to shared radiosurgery units. The branches are fully equipped so that they may handle their own cases from work up to finish with the additional support of the animal hospital should that be required.

For all the positions the Vets must be ambitious to expand on their clinical development. They must have excellent client facing skills and communication skills and work well as part of a wider team.

Facilities:
The practice is fully equipped with a range of equipment enabling them to offer a wide variety of veterinary services and facilities, including:

Package:
- Salary: £60,000 to £70,000 pro rata, commensurate to experience
- Holidays: 6.6 weeks annual leave, including bank holidays
