Permanent Veterinary Surgeon – London

We are working with a well-established, independent practice in beautiful Muswell Hill, North London, seeking their 3rd permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join a welcoming, supportive team.

About the Role:

• Sole charge required when the lead vet (owner) is away – support always available

• Calm, fear-free approach essential; patient and client welfare is the priority

• Involvement in staff and client education encouraged

• On-call and OOH duties required (shared with one other vet)

• 15-minute consults with flexibility to ensure high-quality care

• Full-time, permanent role with the option of a 4- or 5-day week

Practice Structure:

• 1 Full-Time Vet (Owner)

• 1 RVT (Student SVN via RCVS)

• 2 Pet Care Assistants (PCA)

• 1 Client Care Assistant (CCA)

Facilities & Ethos:

• Laparoscopic surgery, ultrasound (with live specialist support), digital and dental X-ray, endoscopy, otoscopy

• Newly refurbished wellness ward

• Patient- and client-focused with a strong fear- and pain-free care ethos

• In-house out-of-hours cover and Saturday morning emergency consults

Working Hours:

• Monday to Friday: 9am–6pm

• Saturday (emergency only): 9am–1pm

• Out-of-hours: 7am–midnight, shared with another vet

• Time off in lieu dependent on caseload

Career Development:

• £1500 CPD allowance per year

• Further certifications supported and encouraged

• Potential for future senior roles or partnership

Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years' experience in UK practice

• RCVS membership (required)

• Confident working sole charge

• RCVS Registered & Qualified or soon to be.
• Possess the right to work in the United Kingdom.
• Have excellent verbal / written communication skills
