We are recruiting for a Permanent Veterinary Nurse to join a small animal practice in Doncaster. This role is full time for 40 hours per week, along with 1 in 4 weekends. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.
The practice is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic RVN who is passionate about veterinary care and has excellent clinical standards and customer care skills.
The practice is a modern purpose-built practice boasting 7 consult rooms along with 2 theatres and all the diagnostic toys.
The practice is part of an independent group across South Yorkshire who are dedicated to delivering clinical excellence. They have 4 modern clinics offering state of the art facilities and services and are equipped with all the latest technologies to ensure they continue to be at the forefront of the veterinary industry. They are passionate about animal welfare and in particularly preventative welfare and are dedicated to sharing their knowledge to all their clients. About the role:
The role will involve working alongside other members of staff and working closely as a team offering support and coaching where applicable. They are looking for a confident and enthusiastic nurse who is passionate about their work and has strong communication skills.
The practice pride themselves on delivering a high standard of clinical care and have an excellent reputation within the local area therefore, it is key that the RVN continues to promote and deliver this standard of care and continue to drive the clinical excellence and services forward within the practice. The RVN will also be expected to run nurse clinics and be competent in surgical skills also.

Key details:
- Type: Small animal
- Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week
- Weekends: 1 in 4 weekends

- Team: Large veterinary team
- Consultations: 15 minutes
- Other: Late night checks for any inpatients are paid in addition
Duties and responsibilities:
- Clinical coaching duties
- General nursing duties including theatre, laboratory, radiography, inpatient care, nurse consultations, euthanasia duties, monitoring patients and assisting veterinary surgeons
- Dispensing medications
- Maintaining practice standards and adhering to health and safety protocols and standard operating procedures
- Assisting the Veterinary Surgeons where needed
- Nurse Consultations
- Providing advice on preventative treatment for pets
- Monitor in patients
- Complete CPD requirements
- Reception duties

About you:
- You will be happy to run nurse clinics
- You will be confident in surgical nursing
- You will be happy to provide clinical coaching, at least 2 days with a student each week
- You will have excellent organisational and time management skills
- You will help drive the practice forward and shape the development of client services
- You must be motivated and passionate about their work and share this and promote this ethos with other members of staff
- You will actively promote the ethos of preventative healthcare and educate clients each day
- You will have a genuine passion for animal welfare
- You will consistently deliver a high standard of clinical care
- You will have excellent communication and customer interfacing skills
