Permanent Veterinary Surgeon – Wimbledon, London

We are recruiting on behalf of a practice in Wimbledon for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. This role is full time with no weekends or OOH work.
The vets will be joining the lead vet along with visiting specialists and a supportive nursing team. The practice sees a wide variety of cases and in particular a high number of rabbits and exotics. It is a purpose-built modern practice which comes with all the toys including an in-house laboratory.
They would welcome Vets who have areas of special interest that they would like support to progress in. Funding is available for certificates and a great CPD allowance up to £3k.
The practice is looking for experienced and confident Vets who can perform routine surgeries and consultations comfortably. Previous experience in emergency surgery and with rabbits would be an advantageous but not essential.
There is a small amount of sole charge work involved.

About you:
- You will be competent in routine surgeries and consultations and be able to perform routine surgeries on your own
- Previous experience in emergency surgery would be advantageous
- Previous experience with rabbits is an advantage
- You will have strong medic skills
- You will be comfortable with some sole charge responsibility
- You will have an approachable, empathetic, and caring attitude
- You will be passionate about all aspects of your Veterinary Work
- You will be happy to share knowledge and mentor others where required
- You will be able to establish good working relationships with clients and be confident in all consultations
- You will contribute to the practice with ideas enabling them to stay at the forefront of clinical thinking whilst also maintaining the ethos of providing a high standard of clinical care to all pets
- You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop a great rapport with both clients and staff
- You will be a strong team player
- Ambition to pursue an area of special interest would be supported

Package
- Salary: £45,000 to £60,000 per annum, dependant on experience
- Holidays: 20 days annual leave, increasing to 25 days after 2 years
