Permanent Veterinary Nurse

The practice is looking for a confident and ambitious RVN who has good experience working in a small animal practice. The role will involve all aspects of nursing and you will be prepared to develop your skills by collaborating with the wider team. You will perform your nursing duties with confidence to provide the gold standard of care to the practice's loyal clients. You must have excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Your nursing duties will involve assisting in surgery, nurse clinics and inpatient care.
The role is full time for 4 days per week with shifts from 8:30am to 6:30pm, along with 1 in 3 or 4 Saturdays from 8:30am to 1pm. The practice is open to discussing alternative shift hours and days. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.

- Handling and restraining animals in a safe and controlled way
- Provide first-class nursing care to injured/sick patients, including documentation, monitoring, health checking, feeding and grooming
- Administer treatments including injections, tablets, drips and blood transfusions
- Perform diagnostic tests, e.g. blood sampling, urine analysis and x-rays
- Prepare animals for surgery and perform some minor procedures, e.g. suturing wounds and dental hygiene
- Assist veterinary surgeons with operations
- Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the practice
- Allocating nursing and healthcare resources where needed
- Organizing nurses' notes regarding patients
- Providing patient paperwork
- Coordinating patient payments with payments department or process payments on their own
- Participating in training new hires
- Placing orders for equipment and supplies
- You will need to be confident in your own abilities and have excellent clinical and customer service skills to succeed in this
- Teamwork, patient care, high standards and building relationships with clients are at the forefront of what they do
- They are looking for an enthusiastic, goal oriented and self-motivated veterinary nurse to continue the rapid growth of the practice

The practice will soon be fully equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. They also welcome equipment requests from new Vets and the team. They are open to all ideas and would support a new vet who wanted specialised equipment. The practice will open with 3 consultation rooms, a cattery room, 2 operation rooms, a laboratory, and a pharmacy. They plan to further expand the clinic into the upstairs level in two years. Their veterinary services include dentistry, x-ray, ultrasound, orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, neutering, anaesthetic monitoring and microchipping.
Package:
- Salary: £30,000 to £36,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
